What are your definitions of "man" and "woman?"
a man is some one with male parts a woman is someone with the female parts.
Are there any specific gender roles that you think should be there? Are there any you wish did not exist?
I feel that both genders should be able to do what they want and i think specific gender roles prevents that.
Do you conform to the society's gender expectations? Is there anything you do that is not usually associated with your gender? If you do conform, is it more because society expects you to or because you identify with the expectations?
i dont think i do many things that go outside my gender role and i think the main reason for that is because its very difficult to try new things outside that gender role with society making you think its wrong.
A lot of the time when it's socially acceptable for a man to expose his chest, a woman has to cover hers. Yet when it is socially acceptable for a woman to show her legs, arms, and cleavage (think dresses), the same is not acceptable for a man. What are your thoughts about these two situations?
I think the whole dressing thing is kind of a matter of tradition/culture, growing up everyone is taught that its okay for a male to show his chest but a female cant show hers, and becuase i am culturally acustomed to it i think that this is a valid decision, but then again if i was raised thinking that everyone could show everything i would have a very different opinion.
In many cases, women and girls are encouraged to embrace their masculine side, while feminine men and boys are looked down upon by society. What do you think about this? Why do you think femininity is seen as less than masculinity? How does this relate to discrimination in the workplace?
I feel that femininity is looked down upon because a lot of the time girls are seen to be weak (not my personal opinion) and that men can and should be able to do things that a woman cant and shouldnt be able to do. This relates to discrimintaion in the work place because a boss or employer may think that a woman needs to have a certain job cuz she is weak, where as a man can have any job he wants cuz he is superior.
Is it important to make the world a more welcoming place for gender nonconforming people? If so, how can this be done?
I do feel it is important to make the world a more welcoming place for gender nonconforming people because then it is easier for everyone to express themselves and do what they want in life.
